Peter and John, all the people were astonished and came running to them in the place called Solomon\u2019s colonnade.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>When Peter saw this, he said to them:<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>\u201cMen of Israel, why does this surprise you?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>We are witnesses of this.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>It is Jesus\u2019 name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, saying that his Christ would suffer.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you\u2014even Jesus.\u201d<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span>He must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>For Moses said, \u201cThe Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from among his people.\u201d<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Indeed, all the prophets from Samuel on, as many as have spoken, have foretold these days.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>He said to Abraham, \u201cThrough your offspring all people on earth will be blessed.\u201d<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Dear fellow worshipers of our living Lord and Savior,<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Can you guess what this is a picture of?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>This is a picture of my Mom and Dad\u2019s dream\u2014 a house on a lake in northern Minnesota.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Can you guess how much this dream cost them?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>It cost them decades of their life and a fair amount of their financial resources!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Mom and Dad worked for years and years and years to build this house so that they would have a place to retire\u2014 which is exactly what happened.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>They moved up to the lake in 1997.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Both Mom and Dad thoroughly enjoyed living at the lake.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>They considered this to be a gift from God.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Dad lived up at the lake until just a couple of days before he died.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Mom then lived here by herself (and her dachshund Heidi) until she was forced to leave to get cancer treatments down in the Twin Cities.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Do you know what happened to Mom and Dad\u2019s dream after they were both walking on streets of gold?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Their dream got handed down to their children.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Yes, this is a picture of my earthly inheritance.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Do you know what I did to earn this inheritance?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Absolutely nothing!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Do you know how much this inheritance cost me?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Not one single dime!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>The only reason I am part owner of this piece of property on a lake in northern Minnesota is because I <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">inherited <\/b>it!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>I can assure you from personal experience that an inheritance can be a wonderful thing!<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">As you and I gather together here in God\u2019s house to continue our celebration of Easter today we are going to focus our attention on the subject of an \u201cinheritance.\u201d<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Let\u2019s use this portion of the book of Acts to remind ourselves and to remind each other that:<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span><b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\"><i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">Easter is Our Inheritance!<\/i><\/b><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>There are two things we want to see this morning.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>First, let\u2019s see that Easter is an inheritance that no one deserves to receive.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Then let\u2019s see that Easter is an inheritance that God Himself has freely given to His children down through the ages.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Our text for today takes place in the Temple of the Lord in the beloved city of Jerusalem.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>When Peter and John were going to the Temple a man who had been a cripple from birth (Acts 3:2) begged them for some money.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>How did Peter respond?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>In Acts 3:6 we are told, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cThen Peter said, \u2018Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.\u2019\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Instantly the man was healed\u2014 <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cwalking and jumping, and praising God\u201d<\/i> (verse 8).<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">That miraculous healing is the basis for the opening portion of our text for today.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>We are told, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cWhile the beggar held on to Peter and John, all the people were astonished and came running to them in the place called Solomon\u2019s Colonnade.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>When Peter saw this, he said to them:<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>\u2018Men of Israel, why does this surprise you?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus.\u2019\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Peter wanted to make it abundantly clear to everyone that this miraculous healing had absolutely nothing to do with Peter\u2019s own <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cpower or godliness.\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>No, rather, this miraculous healing was effected by the Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, through the Name of His Son\u2014 Jesus Christ of Nazareth!<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Now it\u2019s important for us to notice that Peter himself emphasizes that he is speaking to <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cMen of Israel,\u201d<\/i> people who know and worship the Lord, the <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cGod of our fathers.\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>It is in that context that Peter is able to lay the groundwork for what he says in verse 25 of our text, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cAnd you are <u>heirs<\/u> of the prophets and of the covenant God made with our fathers.\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>But, before we focus on the fact that Easter is the inheritance that God graciously gives to His children down through the ages we first need to see and understand that Easter is an inheritance that <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">no one<\/b> deserves to receive.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">How did Peter impress upon the <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cMen of Israel\u201d<\/i> there in the Temple that they did not deserve to receive the Easter inheritance that the good Lord has handed down to His people for ages?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>After clearly proclaiming that this crippled man was miraculously healed through the power of Jesus of Nazareth Peter looked at these people and said, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">You <u>handed him<\/u> <\/i>(Jesus)<i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\"> <u>over to be killed<\/u>, and you <u>disowned<\/u> him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>You <u>disowned<\/u> the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>You <u>killed<\/u> the author of life\u2026.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">What a powerful proclamation of God\u2019s holy Law!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Peter knew that the people who had gathered there in Solomon\u2019s Colonnade were well aware of what had taken place at Jesus\u2019 trial before Pontius Pilate.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Therefore Peter did not hold back!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span><i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201c<b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">You<\/b> handed him over to be killed, and <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">you<\/b> disowned him before Pilate.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span><b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">You<\/b> disowned the Holy and Righteous One\u2026<b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">You<\/b> killed the author of life.\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>\u201c<b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">You<\/b> did this!\u201d Peter says.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Even though these people were by ancestry <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cheirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers\u201d<\/i> they were responsible for the death of the Lord\u2019s Promised Messiah!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Did the people there in Solomon\u2019s Colonnade <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">deserve<\/b> to receive the Easter inheritance that the Lord had been handing down throughout the ages?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Absolutely not!<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Before we get too riled up against the people here in our text, however, let\u2019s not forget that we are no different from them.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>We all had a part in the miscarriage of justice that took place when Pilate released the murderer Barabbas and handed Jesus over to be tortured and then crucified.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Because of our own sins Peter has every right to say to us, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201c<b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">You<\/b> handed him <\/i>(Jesus)<i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\"> over to be killed.\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Because of our own rebellious ways Peter has every right to say to us, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201c<b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">You<\/b> killed the author of life.\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>When we look at our <u>own<\/u> lives and examine our <u>own<\/u> hearts do <u>we<\/u> deserve to receive the Easter inheritance that the Lord has freely been handing down to His children throughout the ages?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Again the answer is\u2014 absolutely not!<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Thankfully, our text for today not only proclaims God\u2019s holy Law in all of its power and severity, but our text also proclaims to us the glorious message of the Gospel in all of its beauty and simplicity!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>After reminding us <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201c<b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">You<\/b> handed him over to be killed\u2026<b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">you<\/b> disowned him before Pilate\u2026<b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">You<\/b> disowned the Holy and Righteous One\u2026<b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">You<\/b> killed the author of life,\u201d<\/i> Peter then goes on to proclaim, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cbut <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">God<\/b> raised him from the dead\u201d<\/i>!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Once we realize <u>our<\/u> role and <u>our<\/u> responsibility for what took place on Good Friday (pointing to the cross) then, my friends, then we are ready to hear what <u>God<\/u> did on Easter Sunday:<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>God raised His Son from the dead!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Yes, my friends, the glory of Easter Sunday is now the gracious inheritance that God Himself has secured for <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">all<\/b> of mankind through the physical resurrection of Jesus the Christ!<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">How does the inheritance of Easter become our personal possession?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Look at what Peter goes on to say in our text, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cRepent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out\u2026.\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>First, God the Holy Spirit uses the power of the Law to <u>smash<\/u> our sin-hardened hearts.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>He uses the power of the Law to lead us to realize that on our own we are completely helpless to change our lost condition.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>He uses the power of the Law to bring us to the realization that we desperately <u>need<\/u> a Savior.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Then God the Holy Spirit uses the power of the Gospel to create the gift of saving faith in our heart\u2014 the faith which empowers us to <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cRepent\u2026and turn to God.\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>That gift of saving faith, my friends, is what enables us to know deep down in our hearts that on Easter Sunday God raised His Son from the dead!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>That gift of saving faith is what comforts us with the confidence of knowing that Easter is now our inheritance.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Easter is the inheritance that guarantees to us forgiveness of sins, eternal life and salvation.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Easter is the inheritance that guarantees to us that we too will rise from the dead and live with our risen Savior forever!<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Once we have seen that Easter is an inheritance that <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">none<\/b> of us deserves to receive, once we have seen that Easter is an inheritance that <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">each<\/b> of us receives purely by the grace and power of God alone then we too can turn to verse 25 of our text and truly rejoice as Peter says to <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">us<\/b>, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cYou are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers.\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Beginning with Adam and Eve and continuing with people such as Job, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ruth, Rahab, David, Mary and Peter\u2014 and so many others!\u2014 God Himself has handed the inheritance of Easter down from one generation to the next.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Now, God has graciously given the inheritance of Easter to you, my friends!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>The joy of Easter, the power of Easter, the confidence of Easter is yours!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>What are you going to do with it?<span style=\"display:none;mso-hide:all special\"><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\"><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Sadly, some of God\u2019s own children treat the inheritance of Easter worse than they would treat an inheritance from their parents or grandparents.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Sometimes even God\u2019s own children don\u2019t appreciate their Easter inheritance.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>That is evidenced by their sporadic attendance in worship and Bible class.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Sometimes even God\u2019s own children don\u2019t treasure their Easter inheritance.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>That is evidenced by how infrequently they receive the holy Supper of their risen Lord and Savior.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Sometimes even God\u2019s own children don\u2019t rejoice in their Easter inheritance.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>That is evidenced by the offerings that they place on the altar of the living God.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Is that how we want to treat the glorious Easter inheritance that the good Lord has so graciously and so freely given to us, my friends?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>I certainly hope not!<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">This picture usually hangs on the wall in my office.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Every time I look at this picture I smile.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>I smile as I remember all the joy and all the happiness that the good Lord gave to my Mom and Dad when He allowed them to retire to this house on a lake in northern Minnesota.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>I smile every time I remember that my Mom and Dad loved their children so much that they saw to it that this house was handed down to us.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>I smile as I remember that this is my earthly inheritance.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">My prayer this morning is that you take a long heartfelt look at the Easter inheritance that you have been given purely by the grace of God\u2014 and smile!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Smile as you remember that the message of Easter is <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\"><i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">the<\/i><\/b> most precious inheritance that you will <u>ever<\/u> receive.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Smile as you remember that the message of Easter is <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\"><i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">the <\/i><\/b>most precious inheritance that you can <u>ever<\/u> hand down to your children and to your grandchildren.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Smile as you remember your Easter inheritance!<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span
