337.5pt\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt\">Once the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum in search of Jesus. <span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp;<\/span>When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, \u201cRabbi, when did you get here?\u201d<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Jesus answered, \u201c<i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">I tell you the truth, you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Then they asked him, \u201cWhat must we do to do the works God requires?\u201d<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Jesus answered, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cThe work of God is this:<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>to believe in the one he has sent.\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>So they asked him, \u201cWhat miraculous sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>What will you do?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Our forefathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written: \u2018He gave them bread from heaven to eat.\u2019\u201d<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Jesus said to them, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cI tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>\u201cSir,\u201d they said, \u201cfrom now on give us this bread.\u201d<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Then Jesus declared, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cI am the bread of life.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>(NIV1984)<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Are you familiar with the phrase, \u201cYou are what you eat\u201d?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>It\u2019s actually quite well-known.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Whether it\u2019s our Mom or our spouse, a doctor or a nutritionist it is not unusual to hear someone remind us that we need to be conscious of what kind of food we are feeding our body.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>If even half of what I read is true, one of the reasons our nation is having an obesity problem is due to the fact that instead of eating fruits and vegetables and grains, we are eating a lot of junk food and drinking a lot of pop.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>And, of course, it\u2019s not hard to connect the dots between eating unhealthy food and having health problems.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>The two tend to go hand-in-hand.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Our sermon text for today focuses our attention on the subject of food.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>It doesn\u2019t take long to see, however, that the food that the people wanted Jesus to give them was very different from the food that Jesus was freely offering to them.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>In order to help us both capture and remember the essence of what this portion of Scripture is teaching us let\u2019s study this text under the theme:<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span><b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\"><i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">You Are What You Eat!<\/i><\/b><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>There are three truths emphasized here in this text.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Truth #1\u2014 If you only eat the food that perishes, you <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">will <\/b>perish.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Truth #2\u2014 If you eat the food of work-righteousness, you <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">will<\/b> fail.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Truth #3\u2014 If you eat the Bread of Life, you <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">will<\/b> live!<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Our text for today is actually just one portion of a much larger event.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>As we heard in last Sunday\u2019s sermon Jesus had just miraculously fed over 5,000 people with five small barley loaves and two small fish.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>John tells us that the people were so impressed by Jesus\u2019 power that they planned to <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cMake him king by force\u201d<\/i>!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>(John 6:15)<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Jesus, of course, wanted absolutely nothing to do with being a \u201cbread king.\u201d<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>So John tells us that Jesus <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cwithdrew again to a mountain by himself\u201d<\/i> while His disciples got in some boats to travel across the Sea of Galilee.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Here is where you may recall that Jesus caught up with His disciples by walking on the water.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">That brings us to the opening verses of our text for today.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Look at what John tells us, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cOnce the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum in search of Jesus.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, \u2018Rabbi, when did you get here?\u2019\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">There are two details here that are important for us to remember.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>First, these people had just seen Jesus perform the amazing miracle of feeding over 5,000 people with just five small barley loaves and two small fish.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Second, when the people asked Jesus, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cWhen did you get here?\u201d<\/i> they were in reality asking Jesus, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201c<b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">How<\/b> did you get here?\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Since they saw Jesus\u2019 disciples leave <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">without <\/b>Him and since they knew that Jesus did not leave in another boat they concluded that Jesus <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">must <\/b>have performed yet another miracle!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>So they anxiously wanted to know\u2014 <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">how<\/b> did Jesus get to Capernaum ahead of them!<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Jesus quickly directed their attention to a truth that was far more important than the miracle He had performed in order to get to Capernaum ahead of them.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Our Savior says, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cI tell you the truth, you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>On him the Father has placed his seal of approval.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">What our Savior was reminding these people is very simply this:<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>You are what you eat!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>The entire focus of these people was limited to physical food for their physical bodies.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>But even then, they did not want Jesus to \u201cteach them how to fish.\u201d<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>They wanted Jesus to use His power and to use His resources to just keep <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">giving<\/b> them fish!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Wouldn\u2019t that be sweet!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Instead of having to actually work for a living, instead of having to actually use the gifts, talents and abilities God gave you to provide for yourself, your family and others, you could just sit back and let someone else provide you with everything you need!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span>What the people here in our text didn\u2019t understand, my friends, was that they were focusing their lives on the <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cfood that spoils.\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>This is where Truth #1 reminds us that if you eat only the food that perishes, you <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">will <\/b>perish.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">It\u2019s certainly not difficult to see people like this today, is it?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Their entire life is focused on the things of this world.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>From the time they get up in the morning until the time they go to sleep at night all they are concerned about is getting as much out of this world as they possibly can.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Possessions, power, pleasure, money, status, fame\u2014 this is what they live for and this is what they\u2019ll die for.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">While we could sit here and say to ourselves, \u201cYep.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>I know people like that!\u201d let\u2019s not neglect to look into a mirror and see if this in any way applies to us, my friends.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>It is so very easy for us to become focused on <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cfood that spoils.\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Ask yourself:<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Is it easier to sit through a sporting event that could easily last three hours than it is to spend an hour or so here in God\u2019s house worshiping and praising Him?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Is it more important for us to make sure that our children and our grandchildren get to all of their after school activities than making sure they get to Sunday school and church on a regular basis?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Do we factor in how much money we\u2019re going to <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">need<\/b> for all the things we <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">want<\/b> to do <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">before<\/b> we decide how much we are willing to give back to the Lord as a thank offering to Him?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Truth #1\u2014 If you eat only the food that perishes, you <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">will<\/b> perish.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Turning back now to our text for today we see that Jesus shifts the focus of the people from physical earthly things to spiritual heavenly things.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>John continues, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cThen they asked him, \u2018What must we do to do the works God requires?\u2019<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Jesus answered, \u2018The work of God is this:<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>to believe in the one he has sent.\u2019<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>So they asked him, \u2018What miraculous sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you?<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>What will you do?\u2019\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">These words remind us that the automatic default setting of our own old sinful nature is captured in the question, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cWhat must <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">we do<\/b> to do the works God requires?\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Because of the spiritual blindness with which we were born, we sinful human beings actually think there is something <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">we have<\/b> to do in order to be saved, something <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">we can<\/b> do in order to be saved, some work of penance that <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">we need<\/b> to perform, some choice or some decision <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">we need<\/b> to make.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">That, my friends, is why Truth #2 teaches us\u2014 If you eat the food of work-righteousness, you will fail.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Look at how miserably the people here in our text failed. When Jesus tried to teach them that there was <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">nothing<\/b> they could do to fulfill God\u2019s <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201crequirements,\u201d<\/i> when Jesus tried to teach them that God simply wants them <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cto believe in the one he has sent,\u201d<\/i> they get upset\u2014 at Jesus!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Even though Jesus had just miraculously fed them, even though they knew that somehow Jesus had gotten to Capernaum ahead of them, they insisted that Jesus <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">do<\/b> something more for them\u2014 something to <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">prove<\/b> to them that He is worthy of their faith in Him.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">I am <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">so<\/b> thankful that we <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">never ever<\/b> fall into that very same trap of work-righteousness.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>I am <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">so<\/b> thankful that after we have been here in God\u2019s house, after we have heard Him speak to us in His holy Word, after we have lifted up our eyes to His cross (Pointing to the cross) and seen what He was willing do to <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">for<\/b> us, after we have received His holy Supper as visible tangible proof of what He freely gives <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">to <\/b>us, I am <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">so<\/b> thankful that after all of that we <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">never ever<\/b> think that we can go out and live our lives however we choose as long as we try to do something \u201cgood\u201d every now and then.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>I am <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">so<\/b> thankful that we <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">never ever<\/b> say to ourselves, \u201cWell, if God would just do this for me <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">then<\/b> I would really be able to put my faith in Him!\u201d<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>We are what we eat, my friends.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>If we eat the food of work-righteousness we <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">will<\/b> fail!<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Thankfully, our text continues. In fact, our text closes with the words that our Savior wants us to always remember, words that our Savior wants us to \u201cread, mark, learn and inwardly digest\u201d so that they become of part of who we are.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Jesus says to us, <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style:normal\">\u201cI am the bread of life.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.\u201d<\/i><span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>When it comes to the statement, \u201cYou are what you eat\u201d nowhere is that statement more true than in our spiritual life.<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>When it comes to the statement, \u201cYou are what you eat\u201d nothing is more important to remember than Truth #3\u2014 If you eat the Bread of Life, you <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">will<\/b> live!<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Everyone whose life is focused on the things of this world, everyone whose goal is to get as much gusto out of this life as they possibly can, everyone whose mantra in life is, \u201cEat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die!\u201d is going to have a rude awakening when they die and instantly find themselves standing before the judgment throne of the Almighty Creator of heaven and earth. Truth #1\u2014 If you eat only the food that perishes, you <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">will<\/b> perish.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">Everyone who honestly believes that there is some work that they can perform in order to make up for their sins, everyone who honestly believes that their eternal salvation is based at least in part on something they can do will be shocked to find out that work-righteousness doesn\u2019t work!<span style=\"mso-spacerun:yes\">&nbsp; <\/span>Truth #2\u2014 If you eat the food of work-righteousness, you <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">will<\/b> fail.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"mso-pagination:none\"><span style=\"font-size:12.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:10.0pt;layout-grid-mode:line\">But, everyone who purely by the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit believes in the One who was sent into this world to be their Savior, everyone who trusts that God\u2019s only begotten Son willingly suffered and died on the cross (Pointing to the cross) to completely pay for all of their sins, everyone who joyfully nourishes their soul with the Word and the Sacrament that keeps their faith focused on the Bread of Life\u2014 they <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">will<\/b> live! They will live <b style=\"mso-bidi-font-weight:normal\">for<\/b> Jesus while they are here on this earth.
